The position postdoctoral researcher has opened in the SELEX group with emphasis on studies to optimize selection of aptamers specific for key targets including cell surface receptors/immune regulatory molecules. In this position, the successful candidate will have the chance to conduct research in a cutting edge therapeutic platform. In addition to furthering understanding of factors that drive the efficiency of SELEX as well as design/implementation of novel technologies you will learn to focus efforts to support the drive to potential therapeutic products. Cross-species SELEX will be conducted in parallel to establish the concept of translatability. Interaction with colleagues from diverse scientific backgrounds and training will build on your own breadth of knowledge and enhance communication skills.
This position requires a Ph.D. in biochemistry or related field. Candidate should be able to work as a team member as well as independently, should be able to design and implement experiments independently, present and discuss findings in a group setting which includes scientists from a variety of disciplines.
Additional experience includes:
• Knowledge of technologies available to perform binding affinity measurements and experience in development and optimization of robust binding assays suitable for measuring affinities of protein:protein interactions and/or nucleic acid:protein interactions is required. This may include but not be limited to: Meso Scale Discovery (MSD) technology, ELISA , flow cytometry, or Alpha technology
• Molecular biology techniques including PCR, NGS sequencing and in vitro transcription is required.
• Experience with in vitro cell-based functional assay systems is desired but not required.
