About Core Technology Alliance

The Michigan Life Sciences Corridor Core Technology Alliance (CTA) is a publicly-funded collaborative network of advanced technology facilities developed for use by Michigan researchers affiliated with universities, private research institutes, and biotechnology or pharmaceutical firms. Services may also be provided to organizations outside of the State of Michigan.
Core and satellite service facilities include:

  • The Animal Models Consortium (transgenics)
  • The Center for Biological Information (bioinformatics)
  • The Center for Genomic Technologies (genomics)
  • The Center for Structural Biology (molecular structure)
  • The Proteome Consortium (proteomics)
    These facilities are intended to serve as catalysts for development of life sciences and biotechnology research and business development throughout the State of Michigan. They are located at Michigan State University in East Lansing, the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, the Van Andel Research Institute in Grand Rapids and Wayne State University in Detroit. Start-up funding for the CTA is provided by the Michigan Life Sciences Corridor Initiative.
