Alucent Medical is a privately held biotech company headquartered in Salt Lake City. Alucent Medical, Inc., is licensed to develop and market Natural Vascular Scaffolding (NVS) for peripheral vascular disease (PVD). PVD is a condition that occurs when fatty deposits and calcium (plaque) build up in the walls of the arteries, causing the arteries to narrow and decrease blood circulation to the legs. We are conducting Phase 1 human clinical trials for our lead product which uses Natural Vascular Scaffolding technology to open diseased arteries and re-establish normal blood flow in these vessels. Alucent’s technology, a major advancement in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease, has the potential to eliminate the need for vascular implants and stents and could greatly reduce the need for retreatment.
