If you are Mylan MYL +0.16% Laboratories, you can get Agila Specialties, a vaccine and injectables drugmaker that quickly expands the product portfolio and geographic reach. However, the acquisition is something of a package deal because it also comes with a headache – a troubled manufacturing plant with bad gloves, bugs, pools of water and sloppy cleaning procedures, among other things. These unpleasant discoveries and other violations of good manufacturing practices were noted during an FDA inspection last June, according to a newly disclosed warning letter sent by the agency to Agila offices in India.
