High fructose intake in kids and adolescents may be responsible for liver ailments if a new research is to be believed.

According to a new study, consumption of fructose in the diet may intensify the concentration of serum uric acid. The consumption of fructose, as well as uric acid concentration, may spike in people who have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
