Cook Group Donates Land To Local Fire Department

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Cook Group announced a two-acre land donation to the Washington Township fire department. The land will become home to a new fire station that will service the area west of the I-69 expansion.

“When I-69 is complete, the current Fire Station #5 won’t be able to quickly and easily service those on the west side of the road,” said Barbara Ooley, Washington Township Trustee. “This property will allow us to greatly enhance emergency services to a large part of our residents.”

The deed to the land donation was signed on Wednesday.

“When you are a part of a community, it’s important to give back – in many different ways,” said Jim Murphy, president of CFC Properties, a Cook Group company. “We’re happy to donate land we owned to support our local fire departments. This donation is the first step in moving this new firestation closer to reality.”

In addition to land, Cook donated blue prints and renderings for the future fire department.
