Concept Life Sciences Strengthens Commitment To Quality Assurance With The Appointment Of Head Of Quality

Concept Life Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Shackleton as Group Head of Quality Assurance. In her role Jane will be responsible for ensuring that the needs of both customers and certifying bodies & regulators are met and that a consistent approach to quality based processes is achieved across the group. She will also play a key role in the compliant implementation of new software systems.

Jane has over 25 years’ experience in quality assurance, gained predominantly within contract research. Since obtaining an honours degree in Combined Science (majoring in biochemistry) in 1986, she has held positions of increasing responsibility within Quality Assurance. In 1999, Jane was one of the founding personnel of York Bioanalytical Solutions (YBS). During her time there she was instrumental in developing all aspects of quality, including building the quality and auditing systems which went on to be recognised as “gold standard” in GLP compliance. Jane led and grew a QA department at YBS and successfully hosted numerous regulatory and customer inspections. She was also responsible for ensuring the compliance of electronic systems, and played a key role in the development of a Laboratory Information Management System, with regards to regulatory compliance. After the acquisition of YBS, Jane’s responsibility expanded to encompass maintaining ISO 17025 areas, in addition to GLP and GCP compliance, at the company’s sites in the UK and in Denmark. Most recently, Jane has performed various quality consultancy roles.

Jane is a member of Research Quality Assurance and has served for many years on BARQA’s GLP committee. She is co-author of a number of booklet guides on GLP.
